Death
MONTICELLO — Services will be held in the Monticello Baptist Church Thursday at 2 p.m. for Olian Lamar Furr, 62, who died at his home here Tuesday morning after a long illness. Rev. F. E. Sellers and Rev. John McDonald will officiate. Interment will be in Bethel cemetery. Born and reared at Wesson, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Furr. He was married in 1931 to the former Miss Grace Sills. During World War I,I Mr. Furr was in the grocery business, but in recent years had operated restaurants. He was a former resident of Tylertown and of Mobile. He was a member of the Monticello Baptist Church. He leaves his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Hogeatt, Franklinion, La., and Mrs. Minnie Holloway, Bogalousa, La.; one brother, L. A. Furr, Tylertown; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Leon McPhail, Willis, Calif.The Clarion-Ledger, Jackson, Mississippi, January 27, 1960
