Death
Floyd Albert Furr, 55, assistant manager and chief mechanic at Rees Chevron Station, died yesterday in a local hospital after an illness of one day. He had been a Ventura resident for 22 years and was a member of Masonic Lodge 369, Ocean Park. Born Jan. 8, 1914, in Dallas, Tex., he came here from Venice, Calif. Services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Ted Mayr Loma Vista Funeral Home with the Rev. William A. Gilbert officiating. Soloist will be Paul Estes and organist Margery Eggert. Burial will be in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife, Lois, and 16-year-old son, Jerry, of the family home, 455 S. Howard St., Ventura; daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Jean Donwen, Hellena, Mont., and Mrs. Betty Louise Lancaster, Ventura; brothers, Ray Furr, Santa Monica, and Marlow Furr, Bellflower.Ventura County Star, Ventura, California, December 18, 1969
