Death
Parker Marion Furr, 2626 Voorhees Ave., Redondo Beach, died Aug. 20, at a Torrance hospital. He was born in 1889 in Arkansas, and moved to the South Bay in 1939. He was a metalworker with the Longren Aircraft Co. Surviving him are his wife, Elizabeth Furr; three sons, Ray of Santa Monica, Floyd of Ventura and Dr. Marlowe Furr of Bellflower; three brothers, Albert and Henry, of Texas, and Fred of Oxnard; a stepmother, seven grandchildren, two half brothers, and three half sisters. He was a member of Ocean Park Masonic Lodge 369, and elder in the North Redondo Chapel. Dr. H. H. Richardson will officiate at funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at the North Redondo Chapel. Interment will be in Green Hills Memorial Park. The body will lie in state tonight and tomorrow morning at White and Day Funeral Chapel, Hermosa Beach.The Daily Breeze, Torrance, California, August 21, 1957
