Death
Funeral services will be held in Wesson today at 2 o’clock for Mrs. Gladys Smith, 58, who died Tuesday at a local hospital in Jackson. Rev. James Fairchild officiated. Mrs. Smith had been a resident of Jackson for the last 15 years but was for a lifetime a member of the Wesson Baptist church. The body will lie in state at Baldwin Funeral home here until 12 o'clock at which time it will be carried to Wesson. She is survived by five sons, Earl L. and Pat Smith, Jackson; Robert L. Lee, U. S. Navy and Sergeant Bill Smith, El Paso, Texas; and Pvt. Ted Smith, Camp, Swift, Texas; one daughter, Miss Gladys Mae Smith, Jackson; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mfrs. Martha Pilgenton, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Mary Smith, Columbia; Mrs. Johnny Leggett, McComb and Mrs. S. Dulaney, Jackson. Pallbearers will be: W. F. Walters, Lamar Fuller, Merman Crawford, Holman, Dewey Swor and J. P. McGraw.Clarion-Ledger, Jackson, Mississippi, March 3, 1943
