Fred Leo Steger Fred Leo Steger, 80 years old, 1041 West Cape Rock Drive, died today, Jan. 16, 1985, at the Lutheran Home. He was born Sept. 16, 1905, at Egypt Mills, the son of Julius and Emma Schrader Steger. He married Wilma Huber Sept. 2, 1928, at Egypt Mills. She died Jan. 24, 1984. Mr. Steger was a lifetime resident of Cape County. He farmed north of Cape Girardeau and worked in construction. He was a member of Egypt Mills Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving are sons, Leo and Le Roy Steger, both of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Krieger, and Mrs. Marion Furr, both of Cape Girardeau; brothers, Louis, David and Dick Steger, all of St. Louis; sisters, Mrs. Thurman (Lillian) Hannebrink, Cape Girardeau, Mrs. Esther Williams, Garland Texas, and Mrs. Armine Simpson and Mrs. Ruth Hack, both of St. Louis; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers, a sister, and a grandchild also preceded him in death. Friends may call at Ford and Sons Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Service will be at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Helmuth Sylvester officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery at Egypt Mills. Pallbearers will be Scott and Kevin Steger, Keith Krieger, Perry Palermo, and Greg and Darrin Dougherty.Southeast Missourian, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, January 16, 1986
