Death
ALBEMARLE — Ossie Waller Furr, 79, 619 Rogers St., died Tuesday (May 12, 1999) at Stanly Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 11, 1919, in Stanly County, Mrs. Furr was a daughter of the late John and Rozella Mabe Waller. She had retired after 35 years with American & Efird Mill Co. Her husband, Theodore Frank Furr, died in 1978. A daughter, Phyllis Furr Smith, also preceded her in death. Survivors include sons Tommy Wayne and Sherrill L. Furr, both of the home, and Randy J. Furr, Albemarle; daughters Toby Pickler, New London, and Becky Jenkins, Concord; brother Horace Waller, Albemarle; sisters Allene Talbert, Lexington, and Edna Mauney, Winston-Salem; half sister Mamie Loflin, Thomasville; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Stanly Funeral Home’s Memorial Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Les Scofield. Burial, Fairview Memorial Park. Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
