Death
Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Elizabeth Brafford, 74, of Stanfield, were conducted at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon in Love's Grove United Methodist Church, where she was a member, Rev. Treadway Brogdon officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Brafford died Saturday in Stanly County Hospital. She was born January 6, 1900, in Stanly County, and was a daughter of the late John Allen and Fronie Whitley Furr. Surviving are her husband, John F. Brafford; two sons, Gerald Brafford of Locust and John Brafford of Norwood; seven daughters, Mrs. Roy Mills and Mrs. Harold Clontz, both of Monroe, Mrs. Ramelle Efird, Mrs. James Mullis, Mrs. Howard Adams and Mrs. Toby Furr, all of Locust, and Mrs. Lucille Newton of Concord; one sister, Mrs. Zeb Kiser of Stanfield; 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, November 5, 1974
