Death
ALBEMARLE — Mrs. Sophronia Anceline Whitley, 92, of Oakboro, died at 6:30 this morning at her home, following a lengthy illness. She was a native of Stanly County and a member of Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Liberty Hill Church, conducted by Rev. J. L. Mauney, Rev. John Petty, and Elder Jason Eudy. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Whitley is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Arabelle Yow and Mrs. Emma Osborne of Oakboro and Mrs. Odessa Smith of Mt. Gilead, and four sons, Onnie, Dortha, P., Philmore, and Seymour Whitley of Oakboro.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, January 10, 1961
