Death
Mrs. Sallie Black, age 77, died shortly after noon yesterday at her home, 1009 North Davidson street, after a three weeks' illness of diabetes. Funeral services will be held at the home at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon and Rev. A. R. Surratt, pastor of the Duncan Memorial Methodist church, of which the deceased was a charter member, will have charge of the service. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery. The deceased was a native of Cabarrus county, but she came to Charlotte about 35 years ago and has lived here since that time. Surviving Mrs. Black are four sons, L. M. Black, K. B. Black, of Charlotte, J. S. Black, of Tampa, Fla., and R. R. Black, of Steel Creek township; and seven daughters, Mrs. B. L. Morrison, of Cabarrus county, and Mrs. J. F. Sucker, Mrs. J. D. Foard, Mrs. J. F. Staten, Mrs. C. R. James, Mrs. Bessie Smith and Mrs. B. Z. Furr, all of Charlotte.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, January 2, 1925
