Death
The funeral of James A. Black, Confederate soldier, who died at his home on North Davidson street early Friday morning, will be conducted from his home this afternoon at 3 o'clock, with Rev. A. L. Aycock, pastor of the Belmont Park Methodist church, in charge of the service. H. D. Duckworth, adjutant of the local camp of Confederate veterans, announced last night that the commander, J. W. Lewis, has asked all Confederate veterans to attend the funeral services, wearing the funeral badge. Mr. Black was 76 years of age, having been born in Cabarrus county April 10, 1844. He served throughout the war with Co. "K" 57th North Carolina regiment of the infantry. He is survived by his wife, 11 children, 56 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
