Death
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. today at Upton-Mims Mitchell Funeral Home chapel in Magee for Mrs. Wade A. Kennedy, mother of Forrest County Extension agent Wade W. Kennedy. Mrs. Kennedy, the former Kittie Yelverton, died early Monday at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, where she had been a patient for seven weeks. A lifelong resident of the Magee area, Mrs. Kennedy was a former teacher in the public school system. She died on her 81st birthday anniversary. In addition to her son here, Mrs. Kennedy is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Byron K. Green of Jackson and Mrs. Lester Furr of Wesson; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. W. C. Jones of Mize, and two brothers, Charles L. Yelverton of Shreveport, La., and Roscoe Yelverton of Mize. Burial was in Sharon Cemetery.The Hattiesburg American, 9-26-1972
