Death

Mildred Shirley Girod, 69, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Deer's Head Center in Salisbury. She was the daughter of the late Troy Haynes and the late Mildred Haynes, both of Baltimore. Shirley is survived by her husband, Edward Girod of Pittsville; her sister, Helen Mielke of Baltimore; her daughter, Patricia Canterbury of Eden; her daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Clay Littleton of Parsonsburg; her grandson and his wife, Robert Paul and Susan Creel of Fruitland; and her great-grandson, Xavier Creel of Fruitland. Shirley retired from Berlin Nursing Home, where she continued to volunteer after her retirement. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church in Willards. There will be visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Contributions to Coastal Hospice Inc. in her memory would be greatly appreciated. Service arrangements have been made by Holloway Funeral Home.
