Death
Robert Lane Bullock, 85, of Albemarle passed away Saturday October 13, 2012 at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle. His funeral service will be at 2 PM Tuesday Oct 16th, 2012 at Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Stoney Benfield and Rev. Dr. Darrell Huneycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 until 8 PM. Born February 6, 1927 in Stanly County, NC he was the son of the late Barnes Belton Bullock and Sara Jane Furr Bullock and was a farmer and retired textile worker. Mr. Bullock was a member of Prospect Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army having served in Panama during WWII and a member of the Stanly Squares Western Square Dancing Club for over 20 years. He was married to the late Annie Belle Burris Bullock who preceded him in death Nov. 8, 2011. Survivors include son Jack Shelton Bullock and wife Janet of Norwood, daughter Anita Bullock Beachum and husband Larry of Norwood, brothers Ned Bullock of Albemarle, Lynn Bullock of Albemarle and Joel Bullock of Matthews, sisters Rachel Thompson of Winston Salem and Ellen Mason of Concord, grandchildren Teresa Bullock Hurley, Allen Bullock, Jr., Larry Beachum II, Jack Bullock, Jr., Brian Beachum, and Brandon Beachum, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. A son Allen Lane Bullock preceded him in death. The family requests that memorials be made to the Shriner s Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.Endnotes
