Miss Jessie May Chrestman and Dr. James Edward Furr were married at the home of the bride at Lyon, Miss, Wednesday, June 29, 1921. Dr. Furr is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Death
MARKS — Services for Mrs. Jessie May Chrestman Furr, 93, were held Sunday at First Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Marks Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home was in charge. Mrs. Furr, a retired businesswoman, died Thursday, July 13, 1989, at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. A graduate of Blue Mountain College, she was a member of James Gilliam Chapter of DAR, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, the Huguenot Society and Dames of Magna Carta. The widow of Dr. James Edward Furr, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ivy Furr Rainey of Greenville, S.C.; a son, James Edward Furr Jr. of Bobo; five grandchildren and a great grandchild. The family requests that any memorials be made to Mississippi Baptist Children's Home in Jackson.The Clarksdale Press Register, Clarksdale, Mississippi, July 17, 1989
