Death
Funeral services for Edna Furr will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Rev. Jerry Cooper and Rev. Mark Sanders with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma. Edna Furr of Hugo, OK died Friday, May 29, 2009 at the age of 92. Edna Furr was born January 29, 1917 in Fannin County, Texas, the daughter of Charlie and Sarah (Cravens) Houchens. She married Ezra Furr on January 11, 1935 in Choctaw County and had lived in this area for 78 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Hugo, OK. Edna enjoyed quilting, crotchet and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ezra Furr on January 24, 1981; two sisters: Allie Crane, Lena Sample; six brothers: Albert Houchens, Tom Houchens, Willie Houchens, Elmore Houchens, and Dudley Houchens, John Houchens. Edna is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Haskell & Phyllis Furr, and Donald & Callie Furr both of Hugo, OK, Earl & June Furr of Farmersville, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law: Lillie & Floyd Jones of Topeka, KS; two sisters-in-law: Hazel Furr of Hugo, OK, Ruby of Wichita Falls, Texas; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Monday, June 1, 2009 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel.Endnotes
