Sunday, November 12, 2006 — Penny Lynn Furr Thomas, 41, of 16355 N.C. 138, Norwood, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at her home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood. Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday with a 30-minute state in Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeremy Blake will officiate. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery. Born Oct. 14, 1965, in Fayetteville, she was a daughter of the late “Bill” and Jackie Pruett Furr. She was preceded in death by a son, Derrick Simpson, a brother, Johnny Furr, and a granddaughter, Chloe Osborne. She is survived by her husband, James C. Thomas of the home; a son, Brandon Thomas of Norwood; two stepsons, Scotty Thomas of Midland and Darrell Tho-mas of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Christy Huneycutt and Jessica Thomas, both of Albemarle; two stepdaughters, Julia Oates of Asheville and Cindy Thomas of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers, Ricky Furr and Gary Furr, both of Norwood, and Billy Furr of Albemarle; four sisters, Donna Connor and Sylvia Lett, both of Albemarle, Linda Preslar of Norwood and Judy Surratt of Denton; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren
