Death
Eva Odessa Furr Connell, 85, of Mooresville, died June 26, 1996, at Meridian Nursing Home in Mooresville after a period of declining health. Born Dec. 25, 1910, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Hartwell and Katie S. Furr. She was a homemaker, and was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. L. Vernon Connell; a son, Edwin Douglas Connell; three sisters, Viola Kiser, Della Blackwelder and Claudia Hathcock; and a grandson, Steven L. Annas. Survivors include a son, Lynn V. Connell of Conover; three daughters, Patsy Ruth Triplette of Winston-Salem, Nancy Penninger of Concord and Gail C. Kirby of Rhodhiss; a sister, Gatha Blackwelder of Mooresville; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Richard Everhart and Charles Martin at 11 a.m. at Catawba Funeral Home. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association, Western N.C. Chapter, P.O.
