Death
GALVESTON — Peggy Deaton Hermanson, 62, of Galveston died Saturday at her residence. Graveside services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dallas Restland Cemetery with Vic Johnson officiating. Ms. Hermanson was born Oct 18, 1929 in Dallas, Texas. She worked for Alexander & Alexander for 25 years, during which time she held the titles claim manager, risk manager and assistant vice president. She also was an award-wining member of the Toast Mistress and precinct member of the Democratic Party. She retired at age 55, moved to Galveston and began doing volunteer work for St. Mary’s Hospital. She enjoyed fishing, Vegas, Nintendo and traveling. She was a true Texan. Survivors include her husband, Robert K. Hermanson of Galveston; sons, Randall A. Deaton of Michigan City, Ind., Wayne A. Deaton of Haltom City, Texas, John R. Hermanson of Midlothian, Texas and Tom R. Hermanson of Midlothian, Texas; mother, Irene Furr, wife of the late Henry Furr, of Dallas; mother-in-law, Mildred Deaton of Dallas, Texas; brothers, Charles Ray Furr and Marshall Neil Furr, both of Dallas; sisters, Kay Furr and Jo Furr, both of Dallas; and grandchildren, Steffanie Allana Deaton, Sarah Jo Deaton, Amy Jo Deaton, Randal Allen Deaton Jr. and Eric Alien Deaton.The Galveston Daily News, Galveston, Texas, October 28, 1991
