Death

ATOKA, OK Willie Jo Furr died peacefully on Sunday morning, May 25, 2014. Although her home was always Atoka, she had resided in Oklahoma City with family for three years after she fell at age 93 and could no longer drive and live alone. She was with us, fully alive and healthy until the hour she passed away at almost 97 years of age. Her services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Atoka, of course, at 2 pm on Thursday, May 29, 2014. She was a devoted wife to Albert Furr for 52 years until his death in 1993. She was an adored mother of Nancy Parrott, Peggy Thompson and husband Mick, all of Oklahoma City, and Rex William Furr and wife Donna of Dallas, Her grandchildren Courtenay, Katie, Allison, Michael and Sarah sought her wisdom and warmth every chance they got. Wonderful spouses Alex Sobral, Thomas Allen, Jon Trudgeon, and Amy Furr and 10 treasured great grandchildren Jack, William, Nathan, Ford and Lexi, William, Michael, Hunter, Henry and Christian enriched her life and made her laugh. She was the only child of Mary Etta and William Joseph Parkhill. She was loved, respected and, wow, we are gonna miss her! The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the First Baptist Church in Atoka, OK.
