Death
NEW LONDON — Bobby “Felix” Furr, 68, 44009 Woodhurst Road, died Sunday (April 15, 2001) at his home. Born Sept. 13, 1932, in Stanly County, Mr. Furr was a son of the late Walter Lee and Flora Belle Eudy Furr. A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he owned and operated New London Alternator and Starter Service for 25 years before his retirement. Mr. Furr was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. Survivors include wife Dorothy Lee Furr; sons Jerry Furr, Statesville, and Jimmy W. Furr, Albemarle; daughter Betty Lowder, Charlotte; brother Walter Lee “W.L.” Furr, Charlotte; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Friendship United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Michael Harrell. Burial, church cemetery. Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle.
