Death

Barbara Furr Kirk, 79, went to live with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015. Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, in Christ Chapel Bible Church's chapel, 3701 Birchman Ave., Fort Worth. Family interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Celebration of life reception will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at River Crest Country Club, 1501 Western Ave., Fort Worth. Barbara Ann Furr was born March 29, 1936, in McCamey to James and Vera Harris Furr. In 1953, she married Davis A. Barclay, and had one daughter, Pamela. In 1978, she married Don W. Kirk. Barbara made her career in the construction industry as a secretary, and later was an office manager in her husband's architecture and engineering firm. She was a lifetime member of Women in Construction, served on the boards of Union Gospel Mission and All Church Home, and was a member of Christ Chapel Bible Church. She was predeceased by her father, James Furr; mother, Vera Pierce; brother, Jimmie Furr; husband, Don Kirk; and stepchildren, Donnie, Andy and Kira Kirk. Survivors: Daughter, Pamela Barclay-Woody; stepdaughter, Kathy Kirk; stepson, Michael Kirk and wife, Patricia; seven stepgrandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
