Death
Mrs. Clara Andrews Furr passed away Wednesday at 3:20 a. m. at her home on Monroe street in Albemarle after two months of illness. She was 26 years of age and was a daughter of Mrs. Cora Spivey Andrews Parker and the late Claude W. Andrews of Stanly county. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Oak Grove Baptist church by the pastor, Rev. J. C. Bennett, assisted by Rev. Arlie Starnes. The body lay in state 30 minutes prior to the services. Interment followed in the Plyler Baptist church cemetery on route 3, Albemarle. Mrs. Furr is survived by her husband, Marvin P. Furr; two sons, William Paul and Jerry Michael; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Lambert of route 3, Albemarle, and Miss Betty Andrews of Richfield; three brothers, Claude G. of route 3, Albemarle, Harvey of Richfield, and Richard of Landis.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, February 27, 1953
