Death
PONTOTOC, Sept. 11—William Alexander Boone, 65, prominently known throughout Mississippi died at his home here last night after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church this afternoon. In the death of Mr. Boone, Pontotoc lost one of her most worth-while citizens. Mr. Boone organized the First National Bank thirty years ago, and was its president for 25 years. He was state highway commissioner for twelve years. At the time of his death he represented the Equitable Life Insurance association and was connected with other business interests of the town and county. He was a loyal member of the Methodist church and served as president of the board of stewards and Supt. of the Sunday school for twenty years. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Thelma Furr Boone, three daughters, Misses Loy and Mary Watson Boone, and Mrs. J. R.Knight of Oxford; four sons, William, Walter and James of Pontotoc, and Howard of Jackson; two brothers, Dr. Howard Boone of Illinois, and O. B. Boone of Blytheville Arkansas; one sister Mrs, R. L.
