Death

William “Bill” D. Furr, 71, of Spanaway, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 15, 2002 in Tacoma. He was born Sept. 15, 1930 in Cabarrus County, NC to Walter Lee and Clara Belle Furr. He was a member of the Shriners and a 27 year veteran of the US Air Force, having served both in Korea and the Republic of Viet Nam. He was retired from McChord Air Force Base, where he worked with the Civil Engineers. He is survived by his 2 daughters: Tammy Menter of Baton Rouge, LA and Lisa Furr of Spanaway; brother, Walter Furr of Spanaway; 4 grandchildren: Wil Adams, Foster Adams, Baxter Adams and Mathew Furr; and a nephew, Michael Furr. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Fir Lane Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Fir Lane Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002 from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
