Death
The obituary for Dr. L. B. Nicholson was published in "The Gadsden Times"; newspaper; Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama: Monday, June 07, 1965NICHOLSON, Dr. L. B., 74, 1030 Walnut Street, passed away in Rogersville, Tenn., Sunday morning after a sudden illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Williams Nicholson; one son, Dr. Thomas Scott Nicholson, Lakeland, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Waldo Carrel, Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Miss Mary Louise Nicholson, Collinsville; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Collier-Butler Chapel with the Revs. Ivan Trusler, James Baird and Wm. N. Whitwer officiating. Interment in Forrest Cemetery. Active pallbearers, Jim Swift, Dr. Fred Agricola, Dr. Scott Vance, Richard Rutenberg, Jim Battles, Charles Walter, Dr. Robert Graves, Dr. Ragan Lonnergan and Lonnie Noojin, Jr. Honorary pallbearers : members of Etowah County Medical Association and all other personal friends. Dr. Nicholson was a native of Collinsville, Ala., and a resident of Gadsden since 1919. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, member and past president of Etowah County Medical Society, American Legion Post No. 5, Masonic Lodge, and a veteran of W.W.I. Dr. Nicholson has been in practice in Gadsden since 1919 and during this time spent 6 1/2 years in practice in Lakeland, Fla. The body will remain at Collier-Butler Chapel through the hour of service. The family request no flowers.
