Notes
Marriage
Pontotoc, Miss., Jan. 2. A "Gretna Green" wedding occurred last evening when Bryan Furr and Miss Eva Knox were quietly married. Bryan Furr has been attending the University of Mississippi and Miss Eva Knox the I. I. & C. at Columbus. Yesterday morning Miss Eva left Pontotoc for Columbus to re-enter the I. I. & C., Mr. Furr accompanying her as far as Mathiston, presumably where she was to change cars for Columbus. Instead of going on to Columbus they returned to Houston, Miss., where they were quietly married last evening. The first intimation their relatives had of the marriage was a telephone message announcing the fact. There young people are quite young and both very popular here. Bryan Furr is the son of W. T. Furr, superintendent of the compress company at this place and Miss Eva Knox is the daughter of O. J. Knox, superintendent of the Pontotoc Cotton Oil Company. The young couple will make Pontotoc their future home. The Columbus Commercial, Columbus, Mississippi, January 4, 1917
