Death
Toy Frederick Furr, 71, of Moore, OK passed peacefully from this earth on Jan 8, 2005. He was born 5/21/33 to Ardena Grace & Wiley O. Furr. He lived his whole life in OKC & Moore, OK. He struggled with brain cancer for several months. He was a well liked person in the neighborhood, & curious kids were always stopping by to see what Toy was building. He was quick witted and funny. Toy spent 2 yrs. in the US Army, stationed in Anchorage, AK (1954-56). He married the love of his life, Elaine Gaidaroff, 9/6/57. The 47 years of marriage has resulted in 4 children; Sherry, Deborah, Jeffrey, & Troy. Sherry married to Doc Savage, Deborah married to Rbt. Radabaugh, Jeff married to Olga, & Troy Don is engaged. His 3 grandchildren are Andrew Fortune (of Deborah) & Skylar & Eli Savage. He also has a former daughter in law, Heather Furr. He is preceded in death by his dad, Wiley O. Furr, his brother Rbt. S. Furr, & his mother, Ardena Grace Sharpe. His surviving siblings are sisters, Wyladean Gable & Marietta Doucet, & brother, Roger Sharpe. He worked 20 yrs. for the OKC School Bd. as a tile layer, then for Capitol Paper Co. as a warehouseman for sev. yrs. He retired approx. age 60 doing part time tree work, then began enjoying his carpentry skills in his own workshop, where he built many creative items out of wood for family & friends.
