NORWOOD -- Wade Lee Furr, Sr., 60, died August 31. Funeral is 11 a.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, Norwood. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Edwards Funeral Home. Published in the Charlotte Observer on 9/2/2006.Wade Lee Furr, 60, of 229 Kelty Ave., Norwood, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, in Stanly Regional Medical Center. His funeral will be at11 a.m. Monday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. The Rev. Bobby Brock and The Rev.Jeremy Blake will officiate and burial will be in Norwood Cemetery. Born Jan. 25, 1946, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late James Albert and Mary Esther Hathcock Furr and was a carpenter He was a member of Harward’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Ann” Sells Furr of the home; five sons, James Edward “Eddie” Furr, Wade “Sonny”’ Furr, Jr., Alvie Lee Furr, and Jace Woodring, all of Norwood, and Curtis Allen Furr of Oklahoma; two daughters, Jade Woodring of Albemarle and Java Hartman of Norwood; four brothers, James Olin Furr and James Larry Furr, both of Norwood, Daniel Curtis Furr of Texas and Kenneth Furr of Concord; a sister, Thesa Greene of Stanfield; 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
