Death
Mrs. Carrie Mae Hinson, 80, of 2501 Fox Hollow Rd., died yesterday at her home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Stephenson, pastor, the Rev. Donald Lisk and the Rev. John H. Connell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Born May 3, 1895, in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Mack and Dora Presson Furr and was a charter member of Antioch Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Henry Hinson of Belmont; nine daughters, Mrs. W. D. Hough of Matthews, Mrs. Lonnie Kiker and Mrs. Sarah Hasty of Mint Hill, Mrs. J. V. Simpson and Mrs. Beverly Hinson of Monroe, Mrs. W.W. Woodard of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Charles Williams and Mrs. Floyd Morgan of Locust and Mrs. Carl Harvell of Midland; a sister, Mrs. Ada Simpson of Monroe; two half brothers, Oscar Helms and Roy Helms of Monroe; a half sister, Mrs. Frank Tucker of Monroe; 27 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at McEwen Funeral Home in Mint Hill.The Charlotte News, Charlotte, North Carolina, January 28, 1976
