Death
Mrs. Louise F. Moore, 66, was found dead of a gunshot wound at her home at 2891 Springland Cove yesterday. Police said her son, Thomas E. Moore, found her dead in the bathroom at 12:15 p.m. when he returned home. They said she had been shot in the head with his pistol. Moore, a policeman, said his mother had been depressed since his father, Eugene P. Moore, died July 4, 1982. Police asked the Shelby County medical examiner's office for an official ruling on the death. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens. She was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church. In addition to her son, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Betty Austin of Southaven; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Stacey and Mrs. LaVerne Stoddard, both of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, Tennessee, January 22, 1984
The Shelby County medical examiner’s office has ruled a gunshot that killed Louise F. Moore, 66, of 2891 Springland Cove was self-inflicted, police said yesterday. Mrs. Moore was found dead in her bedroom Saturday. Her son, Thomas E. Moore, said she had been depressed since the death of her husband in 1982.
