After spending three years in Hawaii, Mrs. Dick Furr of Ponotoc and children, Dick, Bobby and Dawn were here for a visit with relatives. They were in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Turner, They, with Mr. Furr, are enroute to Washington, D. C. Where they will be stationed. He is with the Air Force and will be in the Pentagon.

GIBSON, Ga. - Mr. Richard H. Furr, 82, Beloved husband of Mrs. June Furr, Gibson, Ga., died Wednesday, October 16, 2002, in the St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 19, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Bruner officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery. Mr. Furr, a native of Mississippi, had lived in Gibson for several years. He was a retired Colonel from the U.S. Air Force. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. June Furr, Gibson; a daughter, Dawn Furr, Chapel hill, N.C.; a son, Bob Furr, Nagshead, N.C.; two step daughter, Vicki Montgomery and Lynn Neal, Both of Thomson; and six grandchildren. Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.Endnotes
