Death
OAKBORO — Mrs. Viola Curlee Furr, 66, died Tuesday morning at her home, 710 Center Street, Oakboro. Born Nov. 4, 1904, in Anson County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie C. and Maggie Nash Curlee. Her husband was the late Joe Brady Furr. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert L. Hendricks of Raleigh; two brothers, Jesse R. Curlee of Mt. Pleasant and Vernon L. Curlee of Oakboro; one sister, Mrs. Lonnie Thomas of Polkton; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Oakboro United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Forrest Church. Burial will be in the Oakboro Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, April 14, 1971
