Death
ALBEMARLE — Oscar Furr, 75, of Route 4 St. Martin Road died at 9:45 pm Tuesday July 28, 1992 at Stanly Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 am Friday at Canton Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Gary Hunsucker pastor and the Rev. George Bradshaw. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle on Thursday night from 7 to 9. Born Nov. 13, 1916 in Albemarle, Furr was a son of the late Luther F. and Floria Whitley Furr. He was retired from the bridge department of the NC Department of Transportation. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Huneycutt Furr, three daughters Brenda Bolick and Margaret Luther both of Salisbury and Mary Long of Albemarle a number of half brothers and sisters six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Endnotes
