Death
Claude Franklin Furr, 46, of 726 East 11th St. Ocala, passed away Tuesday, May 5th, in the Veterans’ Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. He was born Dec. 17, 1909 in Munroe, N. C., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. Furr, Sr. Mr. Furr has been a resident of Ocala since 1926, coming here from North Carolina. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and was a partner in the Standard Cleaners of Ocala. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Hazel C. Furr; one daughter, Miss Claudia Furr; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. Furr, Sr., of Ocala: two sisters, Mrs. Clifford B. Searles of Gainesville and Mrs. John Link of Ocala; five brothers. Howard Furr, Clayton Furr of Ocala, Paul Furr of Bartow, George H. Furr, and William D. Furr of Ocala. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the chapel of Hiers Funeral Home on East Ocklawaha Ave. conducted by The Rev. Walter R. Faust and assisted by The Rev. George A. Foster. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tom Kennedy, Murray Brooks, Dr. C. S. Hagood, Kenneth Kennedy, Vernon Whaley and Charles H.
