Mrs. Emma O. Furr, 72, of 1531 Seventh-av, Bessemer, died Sunday at her home after a long illness. Mrs. Furr had lived in Bessemer for more than 40 years. She was an active member of the Katie Neil Sunday School class and the Bessemer First Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at Brown-Service Bessemer Chapel, with the Rev. R. Lawrence Dill Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Mrs. Furr is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George Crotwell, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and four grandchildren.The Birmingham News, Birmingham, Alabama, April 21, 1953
