Death
Mrs. Robert L. Furr, 73, well known resident of Fairway Street, Albemarle, died Saturday at 6:30 a. m. in Timrick Nursing Home, Concord. Mrs. Furr had been ill for the past three months. The former Miss Lula Huneycutt, she was a daughter of the late J. W. and Margaret Moss Huneycutt of Stanly County. She was graduated from the old New London High School and taught for several years at Stanfield, Millingport and East Albemarle. She was a charter member of Parkway Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Parkway Church, conducted by Rev. Edwin Moore, pastor, assisted by Dr. Jackson Huneycutt and Rev. C. Jerome Huneycutt. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery. Active Pallbearers for the rites were Wesley Huneycutt, R. Freeland Huneycutt, Carlon Huneycutt, Grady Huneycutt, Hatcher Kennedy and E. G. Harwood. Mrs. Furr is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Ray I. Austin; one son, Thurman Furr; and one sister, Miss Edna Huneycutt, all of Albemarle. The family has requested that any memorials for Mrs. Furr take the form of gifts to Parkway Methodist Church.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, July 17, 1962
