Death
Funeral services for Miss Flossie Furr, who died at her home on the Old Concord road last Friday after an illness of nine days, will be held at the Episcopal Chapel of Hope this afternoon at 4 o’clock, with the pastor, Rev. W. H. Wheeler, officiating. The body will lie in state at the Chapel for an hour before the service. Pallbearers will be Arvil Stephens, Roy Pryor, Reese Keesler, Hillard Brooks, Nathan Wallace, and W. A. Jenkins. Interment will be in Sharon Memorial park. Miss Furr, who was born May 4, 1920, in Charlotte, is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Furr, and by three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Jestus of Charlotte, Sgt. Emma McClain of Shelby, Miss., and Mrs. Tiny Jones of Homestead.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, April 9, 1945
