Death
The funeral will be Wednesday for Claude Craig “Coot” Furr, 85, Salisbury, who died Thursday (Sept. 3, 1998) at the Salisbury VA Medical Center. Born Sept. 18, 1912, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Furr was a son of the late Jacob M. and Dolly Winecoff Furr. A graduate of Concord High School, he was a retired radio and television repairman. He was a decorated veteran of World War II and coached American Legion baseball. Survivors include brother Bryan Furr, Landis. Services: Graveside, 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oakwood Cemetery, Concord, conducted by the Rev. Leon Hawks. Military rites by Concord DAV. Visitation: At the cemetery after the service.
