Death

Funeral services for Mrs. Alta Little Furr Hathcock, 75, who died Saturday in Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital, were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church: of Stanfield, where she was a member. Rev. Steve Sells and Rev. Kinney Wallace officiated and grandsons served as pallbearers. Born January 7, 1906, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Cephus and Lillie Hartsell Hathcock and was twice married, first to Rufus N. Furr and later to Raymond Hathcock, both of whom preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Glenn Furr and Bobby G. Furr, both of Stanfield; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Baucom of Mint Hill and Mrs. Shirley Morgan of Kannapolis; three brothers, Ralph Little of Charlotte, Jim Little of California and Joe Little of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sisters, Mrs. Etta Furr and Mrs. Vernia Huneycutt, both of Concord, and Mrs. Effie Williams of Stanfield; 11 grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren; a stepson, Aaron Hathcock of Raleigh; and three step-daughters, Mrs. Mildred Plyler of Oakboro, Mrs. Annis Overcash of Charlotte and Mrs. Minnia Elims of Alabama. Interment was in Locust First Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements were by Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland.
