HOT SPRINGS, S.D. Myrtle Elizabeth Furr Hinson, 91, formerly of Concord, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Hot Springs, S.D., where she had lived for the past two years. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home with graveside services following at 1:30 p.m. at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Rick Wilson will officiate. Born in Cabarrus County, May 6, 1925 she was the daughter of the late James I. and Earnie Carter Furr. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 64 years, Clyde H. Hinson, an infant daughter, a grandson, and her brother. Elizabeth was a 1942 graduate of Concord High School and longtime member of Calvary Foursquare Church. She retired from the Federal Reserve. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Teresa Miller of Hot Springs, S.D.; son, James D. (Jan) Hinson of Abilene, Texas; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Elizabeth's memory to Calvary Foursquare Church, 286 Linden Ave., Concord, NC 28027. Services are under the direction of Wilkinson Funeral Home.
