Death

CONCORD - Mr. Clyde Houston Hinson, 83, of Plott Drive, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Rick Wilson, Pastor David Giles and Dr. Tom Snipes will officiate. Mr. Hinson's son, Pastor J.D. Hinson, will officiate at the graveside service, along with military rites by DAV Chapter 27. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Born March 14, 1923, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late William David "Charlie" and Dora Lou Hinson. He was a Purple Heart recipient for injuries he received in World War II, while serving with the U.S. Navy. In 1987 he retired from Jordan Graphics, where he was press room supervisor. He was a member of New Hope Worship Center (formerly First Foursquare Church) In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a grandson and four brothers. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Furr Hinson; daughter, Teresa Miller and husband, Keith, of South Dakota; son, Pastor James D. Hinson and wife, Jan, of Texas; five grandchildren five great-grandchildren; two sisters of Concord; and one brother of California. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Boy Scout Camp Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to a church of your choice. Wilkinson Funeral Home is handling arrangements for the Hinson family.
