Death
James C. Uptigrover, 78, of Lavaca died Wednesday, Jan. 25, at his home. Survivors include his wife, Carlene Furr Uptigrove; two daughters, Charlene Mayes of Lancaster, Calif., and Carol LaVon Hinton of Lavaca; three sons, Clifton Lynn Uptigrove of Bakersfield, Calif., and Carol Leslie Uptigrove and Charley Eugene Uptigrove, both of Booneville; brother, Hubert of Bastrop, La.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ozark Truth Tabernacle with Pastor Ron Townley officiating. Burial was Monday at Prairie Grove Cemetery near Monticello.Endnotes
