Notes
Death
CONCORD, May 27. — E. B. Arthurs was ordered placed under 2,500 bond pending action of the grand jury at the next term of Cabarrus superior court by a coroner’s Jury which this afternoon investigated the death last night of Mrs. A. P. Furr, prominent woman of the Hartsell Mill village. Mrs. Furr, walking home after attending religious services with her husband, was struck by Arthurs’ car and died less than two hours later. Evidence offered at the inquest showed that Arthurs swerved completely across the highway to the left side in precipitating the tragedy. The jury found the victim was killed due to “reckless and negligent” driving by Arthurs. Only six witnesses were examined. The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, May 28, 1935
