CONCORD — Mr. William Wilson Furr, 79, of Concord, died Sunday, January 26, 1997, at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Furr will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 1997, at McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel, with the Reverend Edward Scott officiating. Committal will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mr. Furr was born April 15, 1917 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of the late Solomon I. Furr and Frances York Furr. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Furr is survived by his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Mrs. Colleen Hendrix Furr of Concord; son, William Furr Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Ann F. Ermel of Charlotte; brothers, Joe S. Furr of Charlotte, Eugene F. Furr of Fort Mill, SC, and Robert B. Furr of Fredericksburg, VA. The family asks that memorials be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 525 Lake Concord Road NE, Concord, NC 28025.
