Death
Mr. Frank Furr, age 32, of Powder Springs, died Thursday night. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jack and Chuck Furr; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Furr; brother, Mr. Lewis Furr, all of Powder Springs. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 o'clock from Powder Springs Baptist Church, Rev. Robert Smith, Rev. J. A. Patterson officiating. Interment, Powder Springs Cemetery. Truck-Car Crash On Four Lane Is Fatal to Trio
Three persons were killed early Friday in a truck-auto crash on the four-lane Marietta Highway near Acworth, police said. They were identified as James Reid, 27, of Rte, 1, Powder Springs, a striking telephone company employee and restaurant operator; Reid's wife, Mrs. Beatrice Reid, 24, and Frank Furr, 32, a grocery store operator and former mayor of Powder Springs. Cobb County police said an auto occupied by the three entered the four-lane highway from Mars Hill road and was struck by a south-bound tractor-trailer operated by Robert R. Bellew, 26, of Minford, Ohio. Bellew was not injured and no charge was made against him.
