Death
Callie S. Furr, 93, died Monday, October 1, 1984 in the Beaver County Nursing Home, after an extended illness. She had been a resident at the home for five years. Born April 23, 1891 at Waxahachie, Texas, she married Frank S. Furr on May 21, 1909 at Atoka, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1929. She came to the Baker community in 1947 from Atoka, and was a member of the Baptist Church. She worked in the ammunition depot during World War II at Savano, OK, and also in restaurants. Survivors include three sons, Clyde of Beaver; Floyd of Tyrone; Bill of Hugoton; one daughter, Leona Avers of Tyrone; one sister, Georgia Furr of Cromwell, OK; one brother, Harvey Shults, Tupelo, OK; 21 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, one grandchild, one sister and two brothers. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 4, from the Tyrone Baptist Church. Burial was in Tyrone Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Hooker.The Benton County Banner, Benton, Oklahoma, October 11, 1984
