OCEANSIDE — Lorena Katherine Bell, an Oceanside resident who attended church in Vista, died Sept. 13 in a local hospital. She was 85. She was born Nov. 8, 1902, in Breckenridge, Texas, and had lived in Phoenix, Ariz., until moving to Oceanside less than a year ago. She had operated a child-care nursery for many years before retiring. For 40 years she was a member of the Church of Christ and since moving to this area has attended the Church of Christ in Vista. She was also active in senior citizen activities and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her sons, Fred, of Houston, Texas, Howard of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Lowell of Oceanside; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Allen Brothers Mortuary Chapel in Vista. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Christ in Vista with Louis Cain officiating. Burial at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside will follow the services. The family has asked that any memorial donations be made to the Church of Christ in Vista at 2020 Sunset Dr., Vista, 92083.
