Death
Code Emerson Furr, 87, 802 Franklin in Borger died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in Golden Plains Community Hospital. A retired owner of Furr Nursery, he was a native of Celeste, Texas and a Borger resident since 1936. He was a Methodist. He is survived by one daughter, Merlene Melton of Borger; two sisters, Ruth Gentry of Dallas, Ann Staton of Celeste, Texas; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Services are pending with Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.(Borger News Herald, December 29, 1987
Graveside services for Code Emerson Furr, 87, 802 Franklin, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Westlawn Memorial Park with Rev. L.K. Lawley, pastor, Church of God, officiating. Burial in Westlawn Memorial Park will be under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. He is survived by one daughter, Merlene Melton of Borger, two sisters, Ruth Gentry of Dallas, Ann Staton of Celeste, six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
