Ardmore — Graveside services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. for M.R. Furr at Rose Hill Cemetery. M.R. Furr, lovingly named "Curly" by his friends and family, died peacefully in his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on September 21, 2010. Curly was born in Hext, Texas, on May 13, 1917. He married his loving wife, Ernestine "Ernie" Madeline Litton on June 11, 1938, in Austin. They raised their daughter in Pauls Valley, Perry, Fairfax and settled in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Curly worked passionately alongside the men that he supervised in the Halliburton Oil Fields. He worshipped and served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and will be remembered for his humor and eternally positive outlook on life. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Furr; granddaughters, Wendy and Felicia Ponca; his great-grandchildren, Sarah and Alex Stock, David Robert Zane and Carl Thomas Cody Ashmore, and Mikaela Ponca-Montoya; his great-great-grandson, Luke; and his extended family, the Creamers.
