Funeral services for Mary Nan Spears, 89, of Terrell, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, TX. Burial will follow at Able Springs Cemetery. Mary Nan Furr Spears, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at her home. She was born on January 30, 1936, in Mount Pleasant, TX, to Robert and Sybil Vaught Furrh. Raised in Mount Pleasant, Texas, Mary graduated from high school before pursuing a career in nursing. Mary dedicated her life to caring for others as a licensed vocational nurse. Her compassionate spirit extended beyond her profession, touching the lives of all who knew her. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Spears, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and together they built a beautiful life, sharing 38 cherished years. They made their home near Terrell, where Mary was a devoted member of Cobb Baptist Church. An avid collector, Mary found joy in gathering elephant figurines and dolls-her very first being a cherished Shirley Temple doll. Her warm heart, gentle nature, and deep love for her family will be forever remembered. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Syble Furr. Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her husband, Kenneth Spears of Terrell, TX; her son, Michael Miller and wife Adriana of Granbury, TX; step-son, Davis Wayne Spears and wife Mindy of Sims, TX; daughter, Nanette Weddell and fiancé Mitch Palmer of Terrell, TX; step-daughter, Kelly Marie Burns and husband Kevin of Red Water, TX; brother, Donald Furr and wife Jeannie of Scottsdale, AR; sister, Betty Fisher and husband Willie of Irving, TX; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Ann Toal, Jordan Leigh Watson and husband Ryan and many great-grandchildren. Mary's kindness, faith, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but never forgotten.Endnotes
